My name is Cam Cavasso. I am a common-sense conservative who is deeply committed to the Constitutional principles, individual rights, and core values on which this great nation was founded. I’d like to ask for your vote in the Republican primary election for United States Senate in Hawaii on September 18th.

This year represents a turning point for the United States of America.

Our economy is laboring under the crushing weight of unprecedented national debt and an unsustainable addiction to expanding the size and spending of government.

The values that form the very core of our American identity are mocked and marginalized by statist politicians who arrogantly and dangerously seek to substitute government control for individual rights.

Our nation remains at war.

When we go to the polls in September, and again in November, we will be asked to answer an important question:

“Will we return America to the core economic beliefs and traditional values that have made it the strongest, most economically productive, most moral and generous nation in history, or will we continue to chart the same ruinous course that the current Congress has set for it? “

The professional politicians who control Congress are cowards. They disregard the will of the voters in their myopic obsession with expanding the size and influence of government. They callously and unconscionably burden our children and grandchildren with debt. They seek to destroy the fabric our social institutions by redefining family, marriage, and the role that faith plays in our national discourse.

All across America, citizens are waking up to realize that the fire lit by patriots like Sam Adams still burns, despite the efforts of an unaccountable government and its media allies to extinguish it. This fall our voices must be heard.

Enter the Tea Party movement. Americans united by common sense and patriotism, have joined together to stop the madness in our nation’s Capital.

There is no more significant or effective blow to be struck against the controlling political establishment in Congress than the defeat of Democratic Senator Daniel Inouye, which is why I ask for your support.

In his almost 50 years in the United States Senate, Daniel Inouye has become perhaps the strongest Senate proponent of government spending. As the Chairman of the Senate Appropriations Committee he controls how our tax dollars are spent—literally, the buck stops with him. However, through his earmarks and other support for federal spending, he has not hesitated to shower special interests with our hard-earned tax dollars.

Our loss has been Sen. Inouye’s gain. A recent study by Taxpayers for Common Sense found no other U.S. Senator received more campaign contributions from earmark beneficiaries than Inouye.

As Senator Inouye and his cohorts in Congress continue to pile up debt that our children and grandchildren will be forced to repay in the future, their spendthrift ways are sucking the oxygen out of the economy today. Unless and until they are brought to heel, Americans’ standard of living will continue to decline. Prosperity has never been built on debt.

I respectfully submit the following beliefs and positions for your consideration:

--In the United States Senate I will fight to cut spending and to enact a Balanced Budget Amendment. I have already signed the Americans for Tax Reform pledge that states I will oppose any and all efforts to increase the marginal income tax rate for individuals or businesses, and any net reduction or elimination of deductions and credits, unless they are matched dollar for dollar by further reducing tax rates.

--I will support efforts to reform the federal income tax code. The Founders believed that taxing individuals on their private income was economic folly and it amounted to a tax on personal productivity. They believed further that, by transferring vast financial power to the federal government, the federal income tax fostered a terrible imbalance in authority between national and state government. These fears have come to fruition and must now be addressed through common sense tax reform that allows Americans to strengthen our economy by spending, saving and investing more of their own money.

--I will fight to reform federal entitlement programs– including Medicare, Medicaid and Social Security– that inexorably consume greater and greater portions of our national wealth. The architects of these “functions of government” have tried to cloak their ideological push to expand government in just five words from the Constitution: “to promote the general welfare”—but I believe the Founders would have challenged them every step of the way.

--I will seek to downsize the federal government. In doing so I will be guided by the words of Alexander Hamilton who stated that limiting government is the critical and continuous task of an elected official. I will support the elimination of expensive, bureaucratic, ineffective federal government agencies including the departments of Education and Energy and return their budgets to the citizens.

--I will support a complete repeal of the recently passed health care reform bill on both Constitutional and economic grounds. This bill alone established over 130 new government agencies and it will increase costs, limit consumer choice, and ultimately degrade the quality of medical care in this country.

--I support efforts to transition to a national currency backed with some form of intrinsic value as a check against the inflationary risks associated with a federal government that prints money without restraint.

--I will ensure that our military is properly supplied and supported, and that any declaration of war has national consensus, as reflected by a full act of Congress.

--I will be a champion of values and traditions that have defined this nation since its founding. The backbone of our society is a controlling value set rooted in a shared religious and moral tradition. Today that tradition– and the values it has created– is under attack. Children are growing up in a nation with fractured families, sexual disease and commercial exploitation on a scale unimaginable just a generation ago. I will lead both personally and legislatively to protect children, families, the unborn, and the elderly.

--I will only vote for Supreme Court nominees who are strict constructionists. James Madison said that our greatest source of security as a republic was in having an “inviolable respect for the Constitution and the rule of law”. As a United States Senator, I will fight against the confirmation of jurists who seek to legislate from the bench or who seek to use their political ideology to infringe upon the basic Constitutional rights of Americans. That includes my belief that the 2nd Amendment cannot be misinterpreted in any way to diminish a citizen’s right to protect themselves.

I ask for your vote on September 18 and for your help in spreading the word about this important campaign.

I pledge to represent Hawaii in the United States Senate in a manner that is consistent with our Constitutional roots and values, and with common sense, personal responsibility and a strong work ethic. Let me be your voice in Washington, D.C. and together we will restore the conscience of our nation, and we will strengthen and protect America.

No only so, but this documentary was done in 2008 and was available to media way back then. But no one wanted to report on it. There can be no further question the media's complicity goes even so far as conspiring (even through inaction) with the Democrat attempt to overthrow our government. That is no overstatement. Young girls confused and frustrated by the pop culture and media institutions constantly pressuring them into the counter-intuitive idea that the road to virtue is through the loss of their dignity — young girls who long to find their own Edward, a selfless, strong and tender man who will protect and cherish and love them, are told by “Twilight” that they’re not weird or alone. “Twilight” is a billion dollar film and publishing franchise because it serves a role more important than entertainment. The romance between Edward and Bella validates the better nature of millions of young souls yearning not to be lost.

Lawlessness at the DOJ: Voting Section Told Not To Enforce Purging the Dead or Ineligible from Voting Rolls

In November 2009, the entire Voting Section was invited to a meeting with Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes, a political employee serving at the pleasure of the attorney general. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss Motor Voter enforcement decisions.

The room was packed with dozens of Voting Section employees when she made her announcement regarding the provisions related to voter list integrity:

We have no interest in enforcing this provision of the law. It has nothing to do with increasing turnout, and we are just not going to do it.

Jaws dropped around the room.

It is one thing to silently adopt a lawless policy of refusing to enforce a provision of federal law designed to bring integrity to elections. It is quite another to announce the lawlessness to a room full of people who have sworn an oath to fairly enforce the law.

Arizona Law Already Upheld in High Courts!

Well whaddya know? It turns out that Rhode Island has long been carrying out the procedures at issue in the Arizona immigration statute: As a matter of routine, RI state police check immigration status at traffic stops whenever there is reasonable suspicion to do so, and they report all illegals to the feds for deportation. Besides the usual profiling blather, critics have trotted out the now familiar saw that such procedures hamstring police because they make immigrants afraid to cooperate. But it turns out that it’s the Rhode Island police who insist on enforcing the law. As Cornell law prof William Jacobson details at Legal Insurrection, Colonel Brendan P. Doherty, the state police commander, “refuses to hide from the issue,” explaining, ”I would feel that I’m derelict in my duties to look the other way.”

If, as President Obama and Attorney General Holder claim, there is a federal preemption issue, why hasn’t the administration sued Rhode Island already? After all, Rhode Island is actually enforcing these procedures, while the Arizona law hasn’t even gone into effect yet.

Could it be because — as we’ve discussed here before — the Supreme Court in Muehler v. Mena has already held that police do not need any reason (not probable cause, not reasonable suspicion) to ask a person about his immigration status?

Could it be that just this past February, in Estrada v. Rhode Island, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit upheld the Rhode Island procedures, reasoning that, in Muehler v. Mena, the Supreme Court “held that a police officer does not need independent reasonable suspicion to question an individual about her immigration status…”?

So, we have a Justice Department that drops a case it already won against New Black Panthers who are on tape intimidating voters in blatant violation of federal law, but that sues a sovereign state for enacting a statute in support of immigration enforcement practices that have already been upheld by two of the nation’s highest courts. Perfect.

The fact that the White House chose to empower Dr. Berwick by recess appointment is particularly audacious. The recess appointment power was intended to be used for occasions when the Senate is out for moths at a time. The Senate is currently out of session for just 11 days. Worse, the Senate majority has never even scheduled a hearing so that Dr. Berwick's rationing views could be given an "open" forum. In fact, Dr. Berwick has not even returned Senators' written questionnaires. The White House defends the move by claiming "there’s no time to waste with Washington game-playing." But then why did the Obama administration wait until April 2010, a full 15 months after President Obama was sworn into office, to nominate Dr. Berwick? Is it because they did not want Dr. Berwick's well known and public support for rationing health care to affect the debate over Obamacare?

As The Boston Globe-Democrat reported yesterday, “From Woonsocket to Westerly, the troopers patrolling the nation’s smallest state are reporting all illegal immigrants they encounter, even on routine stops such as speeding, to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.”

Even liberal Providence, where politicians long opposed any local enforcement efforts, changed its policy in 2008 after the infamous Marco Riz case.

Riz was the illegal immigrant arrested by Providence cops twice while under a federal deportation order but released both times. He was then charged with carjacking a woman in Warwick and raping her in Providence.

Rhode Island cops now routinely contact ICE when they suspect they’ve come across an illegal immigrant. Since 2006, the number of contacts they’ve made to ICE’s Law Enforcement Support Center in Vermont has nearly doubled, the Globe reported. How is this significantly different than Arizona’s proposed law?

Families who fear running into the next Marco Riz might think Rhode Island is onto something. But not Team Obama.

Oops! So what happened to all that discrimination and violation of civil rights that the Arizona immigration law was supposed to cause? Apparently the federal government decided it was so lacking that they didn't include it in their lawsuit against the Arizona law. Jake Tapper of ABC News notes the distinct lack of a discrimination charge in the federal lawsuit:
As widely anticipated, Attorney General Eric Holder today filed a lawsuit against Arizona and Gov. Jan Brewer over the state’s immigration law. The suit seeks a preliminary injunction to stop the law from being implemented.

The court filing states that Arizona law is pre-empted by federal law and therefore violates the supremacy clause of the U.S. Constitution.

The filing makes no assertion that the law is discriminatory or risks being applied in a discriminatory fashion, as the president and other officials said they feared would be the case. Interestingly, this suit makes no civil rights charges against the Arizona law.


Huh? So what was all that liberal thunder about how discriminatory the Arizona immigration immigration law supposedly is? Apparently the U.S. Justice Department was unable to find such discrimination to use in its lawsuit. Instead, the federal government is taking the King George III approach when the states attempt to enforce laws neglected by the Crown, oops, I mean the Obama administration.

The Associated Press also notes the embarrassing lack of a discrimination charge in the federal lawsuit:
PHOENIX — The federal lawsuit against Arizona's tough new immigration law focuses heavily on a question that has been in the spotlight repeatedly the past decade and dates back to the Founding Fathers: The right of the government to keep states from enacting laws that usurp federal authority. The lawsuit filed in Phoenix federal court on Tuesday sidestepped concerns about the potential for racial profiling and civil rights violations most often raised by immigration advocates. Experts said those are weaker arguments that don't belong in a legal challenge brought by the White House to get the measure struck down.


Weaker arguments? You can bet that if discrimination could have been detected in the Arizona immigration law, it would have been front and center in the federal lawsuit.

So how are other MSM outlets handling the very notable lack of a discrimination charge in the federal lawsuit against Arizona? Very gingerly. The Washington Post article on this lawsuit is an example. The embarrassing absence of any discrimination charge is only mentioned towards the end of the story:
Although the lawsuit cites potential "detention and harassment" of U.S. citizens and immigrants who do not carry identification documents, it declines to make a legal argument that the law would lead to racial profiling. But a senior Justice Department official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, said that if the law takes effect, "we will monitor it very, very closely, and if we become aware of any racial profiling or civil rights violations, that's something that we would take action on."


Shh! Let's not focus on the lack of a racial profiling charge in the federal lawsuit against Arizona.

Finally, one must ask the question: Aside from non-Arab Turkey, whose relations with Israel are presently teetering on the verge of collapse, why is it that no other non-Arab Muslim country in the Middle East has ever had full relations (if any at all) with Israel, such as faraway countries like Iran, Afghanistan, and Pakistan? Indeed, why would Persian Iran -- conquered by the Arabs -- have such a deep hatred for Jews and Israel, whereas a non-Muslim country such as India does not feel such enmity? The answer is painfully clear: The contempt in which the Qur'an and other Islamic writings hold Jews does not exist in the scriptures of the Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and other Eastern religions. Therefore, people that come from non-Muslim states do not have this inherent hatred towards Jews, and by extension, towards Israel. But when a people -- or peoples -- is raised with a scripture that regards another people and religion as immoral and less than human, then it is axiomatic why such hatred and disdain exists on the part of Muslims for Jews and Israel.

Today, throughout the Islamic world, there are thousands of Christian evangelists who are not only bold and fearless, but also well equipped to debate any Muslim takers. Many of these Christians are themselves former Muslims. In recent years, a Christian Arabic television show called "Truth Talk" has drawn millions of Muslim viewers to watch as host Zakariah Boutros deconstructs the case for Islam and shows the superiority of the case for Christianity. Muslims regularly call into the show to convert to Christianity live on the air. Throughout the Middle East, there is now a growing sense, among both the Christian and Muslims communities, that intellectually, morally and theologically, Islam is bankrupt. And as a result, Christian missionaries are seeing more Muslims convert to Christianity now than at any other time in history.

The second relevant element to this equation is that despite the inability of democracy to fully counteract the vision of Islam, there is another ancient and vastly comprehensive vision that can and will defeat the Islamist vision of the Caliphate. It is called the Kingdom of God. Some call it "the Messianic age," others "the Millennium," but it is the central message declared by all of the prophets and apostles. In the New Testament, the message is called "the good news" or "gospel." In referring to the message that Jesus proclaimed, it is said that he preached the "good news of the kingdom of God."

Today, the Obama administration, the majority of the members of Congress, much of the Judiciary, academia, and the media represent the culmination of the degradation of ethics and character, which has put the United States in the nearly inevitable position of joining the annals of the rise and fall of great nations.

The doctrine of "the end justifies the means" represents the epitome of corruption in any society and the ultimate demise of that same society. Any leader within government or the national community at large who is captive to this thinking must by necessity be devoid of ethics, integrity, or morals.

Such people must be willing, as was President Obama, to lie to achieve their ends, like with the deliberate falsehoods, obfuscations, and manipulation of data that took place during the passage of health care and other legislation.

They must be willing to flout the rule of law and the Constitution, as President Obama did, in the takeover of General Motors, Chrysler, the banks, insurance companies, and the appointment of numerous "czars" in avoidance of Congressional approval.

They must be willing to use the power of the government, as the president has done, to threaten, blackmail, and intimidate political and media critics, and to shake down private enterprise for support and financial contributions.

They must be willing through inconceivable but deliberate levels of deficit spending to place the country on a collision course with national bankruptcy, as President Obama is doing, in order to advance a radical agenda the citizens do not want or need.

Recently, much has been made of the lack of leadership displayed by the president. Many point to his inexperience in executive management. However, as former President Dwight Eisenhower once said, "The supreme quality for leadership is unquestionably integrity." The current occupant of the White House is bereft of that quality.

The people of this great nation must understand that they cannot turn to the White House, Congress, academia, or the courts for solutions, as these traditional sources of leadership are not only incapable of providing it, but are the catalyst for the country's potential demise.

The survival of the Republic is in the hands of the citizens. Their understanding of the future and the steps necessary to avoid disaster is critical. They must not only elect representatives with integrity and character, but recognize the importance of those traits in their own lives and in society as a whole. If they don't, then the United States will become a permanently indentured and second-tier country.

Under public pressure, Paypal removes "hate" designation from human rights sites, claiming it made a mistake. But Paypal continues to do business with Islamic sites promoting violence, hate and terror.

PayPal's capitulation to this smear campaign was an ominous sign."

But on Monday, a PayPal representative contacted Geller to inform her that Atlas Shrugs, SIOA and FDI had been mistakenly designated "hate sites," and that the designations would be removed. The reversal follows an avalanche of critical emails PayPal received from followers of the enormously popular Atlas Shrugs blog.

PayPal's pro-freedom reversal comes just as the Council on American-Islamic Relations issued a press release applauding its earlier capitulation to the foes of free speech and the politicization of services. CAIR is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case -- so named by the Justice Department during the trial of the Islamic charity known as the Holy Land Foundation.

Meanwhile, Paypal "joins the jihad", attempting to cut off free speech at Atlas Shrugs, persecuting Pamela Geller, who is devoted to informing the public about and rescuing individuals from Islamic tyranny and butchery.

The little money that Atlas generates (I have no large donors) is about to be cut off. Apparently the jihad is hard at work trying to kill free speech (and the bus ads and the 911 no mosque movement and the book), preventing the truth from making its way to those in pursuit of it. Paypal contributions help pay for bus ads, rallies, live coverage (everything), and I so much as said so when asked repeatedly by the press who paid for the bus ads. Readers do and did.

Paypal is calling Atlas a "hate" site and will close my account if I do not remove the paypal option from my website. Accurate reporting and news is hate.

Al-Qaeda is the only group in the world with which the United States considers itself to be at war. Knowing that Iran is giving aid and comfort to al-Qaeda is a pretty significant fact — a game-changer.

The AP story points out that most of al-Qaeda’s leadership is now in Iran, effectively under the protection of that Islamist regime. Under the Bush administration, intelligence officials explored the possibility of sending in hit squads to kill them but decided this was not possible. The Obama administration disbanded the project.

MRC Study: By 12 to 1, ABC, CBS, and NBC Rip Arizona's Immigration Law

From April 23 to May 3, the top three television networks offered viewers 50 stories and interview segments on their morning and evening news programs. The tone was strongly hostile to the law and promotional to the "growing storm" of left-wing protesters: 37 stories (or 74 percent) were negative, 10 were neutral, and only three were positive toward the Arizona law's passage -- 12 negative stories for every one that leaned positive. Stories were much kinder and sympathetic to illegal aliens than they were to police officers. Cops were potential abusers of power. Entering the country illegally was not an abuse of power. It was portrayed as an honorable step by the powerless.

Opponents of the law didn’t even have to speak English to be quoted sympathetically. In a May 3 CBS Evening News story, Katie Couric fretted "many" illegals "no longer feel welcome." Reporter Kelly Cobiella focused on the story of non-English-speaking Manuela Quintana, who decided to move to Colorado. Cobiella cued up the mother of ten to deny she was a criminal: "‘No,’ she says, ‘a criminal is someone who kills. I just want to work.’" Over video of the kids piling into an SUV, Cobiella concluded: "The family packed up before dawn today and headed north to Colorado. Manuela says she's lost hope in this state. She thinks she'll find it again in another."

By contrast, law enforcers were the bad guys. On Sunday morning, April 25, ABC Good Morning America host Bill Weir chided Sheriff Joe Arpaio, a well-known enforcer of immigration law, "With this new law, will you ramp it up?...Will you grab people on street corners?"

While several stories forwarded outrage from the Mexican government over the Arizona law, none of the network stories mentioned the hypocrisy: Mexico has a stricter immigration-enforcement regime on its southern border than America does.

Civility wasn't necessary. While the harshest Tea Party activists were scorned by the networks for any suggestion President Obama was a "Nazi," on 11 occasions these same networks unquestioningly forwarded smears that proponents of the Arizona law were like Nazis or Civil War-era slaveholders. NBC’s Andrea Mitchell used these slurs from liberal comedians to demonstrate how Arizona was becoming a "laughingstock."

Violence was downplayed. Only one ABC story reported violence by the protesters (in a "mostly peaceful" protest), and only one CBS story mentioned vandalism (smearing refried-bean swastikas on the state capitol building). There were only two references to the murder of rancher Robert Krentz, and four to the shooting of a deputy in Pinal County, all four in larger celebrations of May Day marches.

Viewers would assume protesters were in the majority. ABC Saturday anchor David Muir touted May Day protests on World News. "Angry backlash from coast to coast. Huge rallies across this country tonight against that new controversial immigration law."

Real poll numbers were not important. The networks were very reluctant to note that the Arizona law was popular: only five stories mentioned that the protesters were on the losing side of public opinion, where almost 90 percent of those polled by CBS consider illegal immigration a serious problem. It’s a stunning contrast, then, that 74 percent of the stories channel the view of a tiny minority.

The very idea is ridiculous. Yet that is exactly the attitude enforced by the administrators at Live Oak High in Morgan Hill.

Luckily, the Live Oak Five are not about to back down. As NBC reported,

“I’m not going to apologize. I did nothing wrong,” [Daniel] Galli said. “I went along with my normal day. I might have worn an American flag, but I’m an American and I’m proud to be an American.”

Why So Hostile to Principles of Liberty?

Having recently reached 74 years of age, if one were to ask me what's my greatest disappointment in life, a top contender would surely be the level of misunderstanding, perhaps contempt, that black Americans have for the principles of personal liberty and their abiding faith in government.

Contempt or misunderstanding of the principles of personal liberty and faith in government by no means make blacks unique among Americans. But the unique history of black Americans should make us, above all other Americans, most suspicious of any encroachment on personal liberty and most distrustful of government.

Let's look at it.

The most serious injustices suffered by blacks came at the hands of government, at different levels, with its failure to protect personal liberty. Slavery was only the most egregious example of that failure.

Congress and the courts supported the injustice of slavery through the 1850 Fugitive Slave Act and the Dred Scott decision. After emancipation, there were government-enforced Jim Crow laws denying blacks basic liberties and court decisions such as Plessy v. Ferguson that reinforced and gave sanction to private acts that abridged black people's liberties.

The heroic civil rights movement, culminating with the 1964 Civil Rights Act, put an end to the grossest abuses of personal liberties, but government evolved into a subtler enemy. Visit any major city and one would find the overwhelmingly law-abiding members of the black community living in constant fear of robbery, assault and murder.

In fact, 52% of U.S. homicides are committed by blacks, 49% of homicide victims are black, and 93% of them were murdered by fellow blacks. The level of crime in black communities is the result of government's failure to perform its most basic function, namely the protection of its citizens.

The level of criminal activity not only puts residents in physical jeopardy but represents a heavy tax on the people least able to bear it. That tax is paid in the form of higher prices for goods and services and fewer shopping opportunities because supermarkets and other large retailers are reluctant to bear the costs of doing business in high-crime areas.

This government failure has the full effect of a law prohibiting economic development in many black communities.

Then there's the grossly fraudulent education delivered by the government schools that serve most black communities. The average black high school senior has a sixth- or seventh-grade achievement level, and most of those who manage to graduate have what's no less than a fraudulent diploma, one that certifies a 12th-grade level of achievement when in fact the youngster might not have half that.

If the Grand Dragon of the Ku Klux Klan wanted to sabotage black academic excellence, he could not find a more effective means to do so than the government school system in most cities.

Tragically, most Americans, including black people whose ancestors suffered from the gross injustices of slavery, think it quite proper for government to forcibly use one person to serve the purposes of another. That's precisely what income redistribution is: the practice of forcibly taking the fruits of one person's labor for the benefit of another. That's also what theft is, and the practice differs from slavery only in degree but not kind.

What about blacks who cherish liberty and limited government and joined in the Tea Party movement, or blacks who are members of organizations such as the Lincoln Institute, Frederick Douglass Foundation and Project 21? They've been maligned as Oreos, Uncle Toms and traitors to their race. To make such a charge borders on stupidity, possibly racism.

After all, when President Reagan disagreed with Tip O'Neill, did either charge the other with being a traitor to his race? Then why is it deemed traitorous when one black disagrees with another, unless you think that all blacks must think alike?

I hope it's misunderstanding, rather than contempt, that explains black hostility toward the principles of liberty.

Government and law enforcement should be working to protect apostates from Islam, but they aren’t. So we are. If we don’t stand for freedom, we will certainly lose it. And Miami-Dade Transit’s kowtowing to CAIR, even though it ultimately reversed itself, shows how close we are to losing it.

It was an outrageous denial of our free speech rights, and a stunning capitulation to Sharia. Even worse, it was a blatantly inconsistent application of Miami-Dade Transit’s policies: CAIR and other Muslim Brotherhood-linked groups ran campaigns on buses across the country last year, including Miami, inviting people to convert to Islam and claiming that Abraham, Moses, and Jesus were Muslim prophets. Miami-Dade Transit allowed the CAIR bus ads, despite how offensive they were to Jews and Christians.

In December 2008, the Miami Herald ran a glowing piece on the CAIR bus ad campaign, which ran in Miami-Dade and Broward counties for eight weeks. No one took offense, despite the Islamic supremacist nature of the ads. No one breathed a word of protest.

It was important to counterbalance this offensive appropriation of the founding figures of Judaism and Christianity and outright deception with a healthy message. But although Miami-Dade Transit had no trouble with CAIR’s offensive message, they found our defense of religious freedom unacceptable.

Miami-Dade Transit was bowing to Sharia — Islamic law — which forbids non-Muslims to insult Islam. But CAIR didn’t win this time: after our excellent lawyer, David Yerushalmi, and his associate, Robert Muise of the Thomas More Law Center, threatened a lawsuit for breach of contract and infringement of our First Amendment rights, Miami-Dade Transit agreed to restore our ads.

Still think we enjoy the protection of the First Amendment on speech that offends the powerful? Think again, because the obstacles our campaign faced didn’t start with Miami. At least three of the bus companies that ran CAIR’s dawah (invitation to Islam) bus ads turned down our ad.

So everybody knew. Everybody knew that Obamacare would ratchet up the cost. That news was suppressed. Sebelius didn’t want to read it on purpose, saying she “didn’t want to affect the vote,” all of which is true. She knew the vote would be affected.

By honoring God, our governing principles have set us free and allowed us all to prosper to one degree or another. Our poor are the wealthy of most of the world. So, we are free and we have been blessed by freedom to prosper, but because of our fallen, sinful nature, we are also cursed by freedom as well. We are cursed to be so at ease, so well nourished, so prosperous that we forget the source of our blessings. By ignoring God with our rebellious independence and disobedience and our abuse of freedom, we curse at God and return to the curse from whence we came.

We Can See Right Through Obama's Lack of Transparency!

When 'homosexual' servicemen from all branches chained themselves to the iron gate around the White House in protest for Obama's position or inactivity regarding the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy, the Obama Administration attempts to squash the story by isolating the protesters from the press. The White House Police declared Lafeyette Park closed and cleared the public from the scene.

In the video, you can hear an elitist reporter offended that he is being treated like the rest of the public, as if he is somehow not an ordinary civilian. But, I share some of his outrage at Obama's attempt to cover up the story! The media's ability to do their job is a manifestation of our Constitutionally protected "freedom of speech, or of the press".

Obama's intransparency is clearly on display in this video and rises to the level of pure tyranny! How will the elitist, lefty media feel about and report on Obama's ever-so-lefty leftiness, now that he's violating their rights and depriving them of their delusion of elite status of which they are so proud?

I've been saying since last summer that half the country has grave doubts about Obama – not just about the birth certificate, but about who he truly is. Projection is exactly what happens when Democrats accuse Conservatives of racism. Republicans fight for the individual rights, so they see every American as a unique individual. Democrats fight for group rights, so your average Democrat only sees groups, differentiated by gender, race, and sexual preference.

No longer is this vile deception the danger it once was. House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is warning that some of his Democratic colleagues are being threatened with violence when they go back to their districts — and he wants Republicans to stand up and condemn the threats.

The fact that plenty of Republicans get threats every day and nobody says a thing notwithstanding, taking Hoyer’s words at face value, as a conservative Republican, I condemn real threats of violence almost as much as I condemn desperate claims that are manufactured in a cheap attempts to further broken agendas.

No one has been arrested or even identified for having threatened anyone. One can only speculate about who is guilty. It must not be overlooked that some are all of these incidents may have been staged by communist Democrats in order to generate sympathy. Democrat Hoyer is merely playing a petty political trick. By calling for only Republicans to condemn threats, he implies that only Republicans can have some influence over the perpetrators of these alleged threats. He is doing nothing more or less than asking Republicans to take ownership of the threats. His pretense of concern is disingenuous and flat out dishonest. Instead of responding to his call, I respond to Ms. Malkin's call to condemnation.

That said, I’d like Rep. Hoyer and people of all political stripes to condemn the assumption that any physical threats of retribution over the health care bill are coming from Republicans.

Under the Democrats' health care bill, if a medical school wants to increase its chances of receiving many different kinds of grants and contracts from the federal government, it should have a demonstrated record of training individuals who are from underrepresented minority groups. This is because the Democrats' health care bill requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services to give preference to the entities that have demonstrated such a record in the awarding of these contracts to medical schools and other institutions.

George Soros and Barack Obama conspire (that's right, I said it) with lobbyists for greedy industries to continue to cripple the U.S. economy.

The emails show that the Department of Energy and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) coordinated their response to a damning Spanish report on “green jobs” with wind industry lobbyists and the Center for American Progress (the progressive think tank founded by John Podesta and funded by George Soros).

The report from Spain’s Universidad Rey Juan Carlos — which was the subject of a George Will column in the Washington Post on June 25, 2009 — showed each “green job” that had been added by Spain’s aggressive wind energy program cost Spain nearly $800,000 and resulted in the loss of 2.2 jobs elsewhere in the economy.

Eight times, Obama had publicly referred to Spain’s program as being a model for a U.S. wind energy program.

The 900 pages of emails, obtained by the Competitive Enterprise Institute’s Christopher C. Horner, show staff members from the DoE’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) and the EPA developing a response to the report. They also show them coordinating the response with the Center for American Progress, plus the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) and the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) — two wind industry lobbyist groups.

What the emails show runs contrary to statements made to Congress by the Assistant Secretary of Energy Cathy Zoi — the Obama administration response to the Spanish report was in fact instigated at the request of the AWEA. It was then written with the close cooperation of the AWEA, the Center for American Progress, and the Union of Concerned Scientists.

The emails concentrate on the political implications of the Spanish study — and how to discredit it.

There also appears to have been significant pressure to publish an internal report from the NREL as a DoE report — bypassing the internal review and publication procedures — and to do so quickly.

The emails suggest that wind industry lobbyists and political organizations have significant behind-the-scenes influence on scientific reports from the Obama administration. This contradicts Obama’s insistence that his administration would get the politics out of science. It also calls into question the objectivity and quality of the information they provided to Congress.

The emails fall into three categories, each raising interesting questions:

1. Emails discussing how to spin the Spanish report: how to respond to this challenge to one of the Obama administration’s cherished programs?

2. Emails telling of pressure being put on DoE staffers by Cathy Zoi.

3. Emails describing the DoE’s relationship with Big Wind, the Soros-funded CAP, and the leftist UCS.

You might expect this to be a story of great interest to the mainstream media.

But I have excellent information pointing to at least one national newspaper being given these same emails by DoE, upon request, only to have its editors spike the story. In addition to being a case-study in Obama-style governance, this incident reaffirms the role and the importance of new media (such as PJM).

There is no health care crisis in the United States. People come from all over the world for access to our health care. That may indicate a crisis for their native countries, but not for us. We have it very, very good. If "Progressives" (read: Totalitarians) had not imposed tyrannical policies that cause health care in the U.S. to be more expensive and more difficult to access than it would be in a truly free market, then our world class health care system would be even better!

The problems that we do have can be resolved simply and freely. For example: One Problem, One Bill.

But health care reform has never been the Progressive Totalitarian agenda. Kyle-Anne Shiver exposes the intense hatred held by Obama and his ilk for your God-given liberty in her article, Hidden Healthcare Reform Objective: Feds Want to Know Your Number.

Imagine an America where your Unique Health Identifier (UHI) is required for every access to a nationally controlled healthcare system. Imagine an America, where you must give your UHI, via a scan of your surgically implanted biochip, to pick up your prescription at the pharmacy and even when you buy over the counter medications. The number could eventually be required to purchase alcohol and tobacco products, perhaps even to track quantities of bakery goods, chocolates, trans-fats, beef, and even birth control products — or anything else the nanny bureaucrats decide to monitor.
Sound farfetched? Like a plot from a conspiracy-theory movie? Like something from a sci-fi novel?

Part of HIPAA legislation was the requirement for the development of the Unique Health Identifier (UHI) for individuals.

In 2003, privacy rules were enacted that purportedly protect the individual’s right to healthcare confidentiality. However, a provision of these privacy rules includes a powerful, blanket waiver, which can be used at the discrimination of a “Privacy Board,” acting under HHS. All privacy rules can be disregarded for research or other “necessary” purpose:


If the covered entity receives appropriate documentation that an IRB or Privacy Board has granted a waiver or an alteration of the Authorization requirement

In other words, American citizens will continue to have the right to privacy and confidentiality between themselves and their healthcare providers, if and only if, the Department of Health and Human Services deems that right justified. If, on the other hand, the HHS deems the open availability of an individual’s or groups of individuals’ healthcare information to be necessary to the “general welfare,” then a waiver will be granted without the citizen’s consent or even his knowledge. And this is perfectly legal.

And here is the best part...

According to my source on the health and technology sub-committee, ultimate biological control of the population is the end goal of the federal healthcare initiative, now being force-fed by the president and the Democratic Party congressional leaders.
Members of this sub-committee were even heard discussing how women’s menstrual periods could be state monitored. How people’s defecation might be monitored and used to detect broad health concerns through electronic toilet management systems. How sexual habits could be state-monitored by managing the sale of all birth-control technology through the use of the UHI.

Perhaps this explains why President Obama and his Party are willing to commit political suicide for the passage of this particular healthcare overhaul. Without it, they may fail in their grand plan to “re-make” America according to their scientific-state, progressive delusions.

It doesn’t take much more than a casual glance at the downfall of the others who’ve tried this mad-science controlled government scheme to see that it isn’t a winner. Both the Nazis and the Soviets, who built their own totalitarian regimes on Malthusian scientific themes did fall – albeit only after killing untold millions of their own citizens.

Like a Little Child

People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." ~Mark 10:13-15

What does it mean for anyone to "receive the kingdom of God like a little child"? I've been taught and have believed that it meant accepting God the way a little child blindly trusts and accepts his parents (or even others). I still do, but could there be more? Is there more of the character of a little child that we must embrace in order to receive the kingdom of God? Or can our likeness to a little child be refined in order that we may more fully receive the kingdom of God? I was reminded by the passage below that I, as a child, was ever hopeful and ever curious. I was always eager to explore, learn, and experience more.

Now, as an adult, of course, I am so burdened with the mundane life. I just want to get through the boring routine of the day. The fewer new experiences the better! Too often, I look back to the "good old days" and long for the freedom from anxiety and responsibility. Truly, I also miss the blissful ignorance. Is this not a result of weak faith?

So do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. ~Matthew 6:31-32

I came across the following in a book with multiple authors called Sex and the Supremacy of Christ. Chapter 4 is by David Powlison. While making the point that "repentance is a lifestyle", he quotes Martin Luther and writes:

The trumpet call, Thesis Number One of Luther's Ninety-five Theses, was this: "When our Lord and Master, Jesus Christ, said 'Repent,' He called for the entire life of believers to be one of repentance." That first of Luther's theses dismantled all the machinery of religiosity and called us back to human reality. Luther glimpsed and aimed to recover the essential inner dynamic of the Christian life. It is an ongoing change process. It involves a continual turning motion, turning toward God, and turning away from the riot of other voices, other desires, other loves. We tend to use the word repentance in its more narrow sense, for decisive moments of realization, conviction, confession, turning. But Luther uses the word in its wider, more inclusive sense. If we are living in Christ, we are living from-to.

Lifelong progressive sanctification was the trumpet call back to biblical faith. It was a call back to this life ... in which the living God is on the scene throughout your life.

Since God is with us and we trust him, we can move forward in life with eyes wide open not only unafraid of what we will see, but also eagerly expecting to rejoice in the glory of God as he has determined it will be revealed in his plan for us. And why not? God's abilities are so much greater than ours. His knowledge is better, his wisdom is better, his power is better, his love is better, his promise is better.
